Being a Data Network Engineer comes with multiple challenges every day. Any mid-level Network Engineer with expertise in networking will relate to this.

Here are some of the key challenges:

• Keeping Up with Evolving Technology
  The constant dilemma:

  • Should I refine my expertise in existing technologies like MPLS, Traffic Engineering, OSPF, and BGP?

  • Should I explore new advancements like Segment Routing and Next-Gen Multicasting?

  • Should I shift focus to automation with Ansible, Python, etc.?

  • Or should I dive into AI and rethink my career path entirely?

  • Ultimately, this confusion leads to a lack of focus, resulting in sticking to routine tasks.

• Uncertainty About the Next Step

  • Should I continue in a purely technical role?

  • Should I transition into a managerial or leadership position?

  • Or should I forget both and focus on building a side hustle?

These thoughts are common among mid-level engineers trying to redefine their career path.

Being the person who is network enginner and these thought is common for me too.
